How I prepared

There are a lot of good study materials on the web. There are some good sites where people made flashcards that they've shared. I also looked up test samples and took a bunch of free online test samples just to get into the practice of taking the test and deducing answers. I also had some study guides that friends gave me. I spent about 1-2 hours each day studying for the exam. This consisted of those online tests, reading, thinking, even formulating test scenarios within my own daily work. I wa… Continue

licensing exam

I took the master's level exam today for the 3rd time. I felt well prepared this time. I took a workshop through the NASW. Dr. Sophia Djegeleskia was the presenter. I am so discouraged about this test. I absolutely love my job as a discharge planner at our local hospital and I need to get my license. Does anyone have any suggestions or study material that is going to help me pass?

I PASSED THE LMSW TODAY!

I finally passed the exam after my third attempt. The first two times I failed by one point. I was really thinking of giving up and then remembered what the great Winston Churchill once said, "Never, never, never, give up!"

tutor hint #3

change your attitude towards the lmsw exam
this exam doesnt prove how smart you are or what a good social worker you are
it tests some content but mostly it tests how well you can "psych out"standardized exams....you need to learn test taking techniques if you dont know them. Here is the first test taking technique:
1. read the question carefully and paraphrase it in your own words

Apparently, is due to how much it cost to write questions for each exam. It is more money to write tests questions for the Advance and Clinical. I am really frustrated about the increase because it is hard enough trying to pass the test and when you don't you… Continue
