How to study is an important component of this isn't it?
Well, I have a way to study I learned in a class in undergrad yrs.
what I did with Sophias dvd's was to outline what she was saying
using my macbook and her booklette. Its just a way for me to work
with the material. I also have made flash cards even though I have
prepared ones so that for to learn I have to work with the material
and make it my own in some way. I also hired me neighbor who is a coach to support me as it is a lonely process. do you have a supervisor you can work with or a consultant/ How was it taking Sophias class in person?
I find the hardest is piaget, the different schools of family therapy
primarily between bowman and haley, and stats.
I am taking the test tommorrow so that is what I will focus on today.
Did you find that it was helpful in sophias program to remember
educate, advocate, facilitate, intervene in that order
always explore before you do something
always assess before refer
that sort of thing.
I think the AATBS test really is horrible and frightening, frightening because I would always miss alot and in the end the test questions were not like the board questions.... although I know a woman who used their entire package and passed.
Did you have anxiety? I got some anxiety performance meds (beta blockers?) from my NP to use and I have tried them already and they seem to keep me calm. I'm told that nurses use them when having to demo a procedure in training and musicians who have stage fright find them helpfl too.
And, my couples counselor used them when she was doing her ph.d exam.
let me know if this is helpful, and if there is any other way I can be helpful.
I would also like to know which on line practice exam to order. I have to take it until I pass. I am in search of any and all suggestions to reaching that goal. Thanks family of social workers who understand the anxiety. I have taken it four times myself. The money is tight. What are some ideas?
Hey! Sorry so late wit h response. Im unsure when I am taking mines because I am also about to prepare for the LSAT for law school. It will probably be in late November or early of 2009. I will prepare by studying the AATBS study guide that I bid off of ebay. It expensive on the site but I got it all for like 150 on ebay...alot of material and I havent even gone thru it all! I amy even but a social work dictornary.
how will you be preparing?
I always wanted to know this-what kind of work you can do besides work in a social work environment? Is it even possible for a social worker to work in something like customer relations? What are some ideas?
