Social Work Exam Review

It's In There!

I stumbled upon this web site last week as I was preparing to take my social work exam. I took the test yesterday (6/27) and failed with a 74. I could not believe it. As I was taking the test, I was very confident. A 74! It blows me away.
Anyways, I'll wait my three months and be back in October. I'll continue to study using my expensive studyguide I purchased :) Take the free on line test, discuss with my supervisior, make additional flashcards, think positive thoughts, and reflect on my first attempt and the wording of the questions.
To those of you taking the test the first time or the fourth time - You can do it.
The best to all.

This is so depressing. I am scheduled to take it next friday and I'm just overwhlemed by how many people have failed it the first time. Any words of advice? I'm taking online tests through socialworkexam.com. and using a book I got through a prep course.

The study guide I purchased was from LEAP it was benefical with practice questions. It breaks down the content of the exam and gives you suggesions. Look at the last sentence of the question - many times too much detail - which can be misleading and put you on the wrong path. Try not to think too much on the questions - just go with the information in the question - it's difficult not to make assumptions when your'e reading the question. I don't know - still cannot believe I did not pass it - should of study maybe a week more or so. I'll get it next time. Take the practice questions on line it gives you a sense of what the exam is looking for and try to figure out why the answer is the answer it may help with a quesiton on the exam. I made flashcards for the DMS dxs. this helped with the assessment portion. Good luck - there were a few good postings on this site with some good advice that I found helpful.
